Sometimes a glittering career hides some of the darkest tales. Lolo Jones, champion of the USA and World hurdles, has earned this status after many years of hard work and incredible endurance. Jones had the most difficult of lives as the child of an unwed mother who was also a mother to five kids. Her mother and she lived in the basement of a church, and was constantly on the go. Jones her nomadic life made her change schools each year, until she reached the age of high school. Jones was forced to move away from mother at Theodore Roosevelt School in order pursue her love of track. Jones was a resident of four residences during her high school period to be able to complete her studies in one place. Jones was a member of the Orchestra of Iowa and the Gatorade Track and Field Award. She also won this award at school. Jones, when she went to university, was recognized as one of best hurdlers.
