Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan was born and was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam Her mother, who was a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. Her father gave her an opportunity to be the curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She and her family then moved into the landmark. The 2005 graduate from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan began singing in the children's chorus as a contralto and then she joined the adult choir a few years later. Sullivan wasn't exposed to secular music initially. "I started singing solos in the church, and someone asked me to commit to gospel records at age 11. But I wasn't ready to do that," she says. After that, McDonald's held a contest for kids in big cities. I was allowed to sing "Accept The Grace God Gives" during It's Showtime at the Apollo. And the people were very enthusiastic. She performed alongside Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday party at 13. Sullivan aged 15 first got signed by Jive Records. As a teenager she signed with Jive Records. She made an entire album in Jive Records but the album was never released. Sullivan was eventually removed from the record label. Missy Elliott was the producer for some tracks on their debut album. One of them was "Backstabbers" by Timbaland the track that Elliott wrote was one of Sullivan's top tracks.
